· Keep a steady pace of play on the course......Forget about pride - always call faster players thru.

· You must be on the timesheet to guarantee yourself a game, as the timesheet is very full, especially Saturdays.

· The match play competition will be strictly enforced this year, entrants must make a better effort to complete matches on time ! , see Ger Cantwell in the case of a dispute.

· Try to support the club in interclub competitions this year, even if you only come and watch for an hour.

We were beaten   6  1/2   ~   2  1/2, in a very close match, despite the final result.

 

South leinster Trophy,  Wednesday 4/4/12  Manager: Eamonn Carroll -  V  The Heath                                      Eamonn Carroll won on the 18th away. Conn loy won at home 4&3, with John Hopkins beaten on our 18th in the deciding  match, his opponent had a great par to win the match.

All 5 matches were played at home, with the score all square at 2-2  (Leo Mahon & Jack Murphy securing points)  , in the deciding  match John Hopkins and Frank McNamara lost on the 18th.

Our 1st match on Saturday April 9th  in the South Leinster Trophy (16~18) handicaps,

was a great start, we won 5 - 2  versus Naas

On Sunday April 10th:

 The Leinster 4ball team played Stackstown and won 3-2

On the same day, the Barton Cup team lost against Edmondstown.

Another playoff, this time we lost on the 20th hole. Alan Hayes & Paul Best took it to the wire.

Tony Foran/Tom McGuirk won on the 16th.   The rest of the home team were Mick O’Sullivan & John Lester.

Away: Ger Cantwell & Conor Best won at Castle GC, Mick Mckeown & Nick Norman.

 

May 22nd 3pm: Metro Trophy V the Grange, 5 home 4 away

We were beaten 6-3 , Ger Brady won 3&2,B Cruise won 5&3,Eamonn Sexton won 3&2.

May 14th Pierce Purcell at the Grange, 12 ~ 15 handicaps. Best four gross scores to count.

Only 2 shots away from making the semi final.  Grange 337, Castlewarden 350,Beechpark 351,   K Club 357, Slade V & Castle 358, Dublin Mountain  359.      18 teams played on the day.

We won 3 matches at home, John Morgan 4&3,Willie Phelan 3&2 and Jim Blaney 2&1

 with Con loy securing the vital away win.Colin Daly -Home, Leo Mahon & Paul Duignan-away

Friday 29th of April - JB Carr ( over 60’s )  - V - Corrstown, manager: Tony Foran

All our matches were away from home and we ended up with another great win 3~2

That is now 5 wins from 7 competitions to date.

 

Tuesday 26th of April-  Leinster 4-Ball last 64    - V - Edmondstown.

Another great result for Gerry Cantwell’s team, with 2 wins at home and one away securing a 3~1 win. We will play the winners of Castle/Hazel Grove - V - Dublin City in the last 32.

 

Monday 25th of April, Our Metropolitan Trophy team beat Hazel Grove 5~4

Well done to John Morgan who sank the match deciding birdie on the 20th hole.

Brian Cruise, Eamonn Sexton and J Morgan won at home. Dan Crossan & Aidan Cruise, were narrowly beaten on the 19th and 18th holes.

Paul Duignan & Brendan O’Connor played in the McGinley Trophy away to Druids Glen.

Unfortunately they were beaten on the 16th, to a very strong DG team.
